The rib is one of carpet's oldest and most enduring surface textures — a subtle, structured pattern formed by the way the yarn is woven that catches light differently to a plain loop and gives a floor a quiet sense of depth and craft. In the Bramham Rib, that traditional construction is combined with 100% British wool to produce a carpet that is both visually considered and genuinely built to last.

Like its sibling the Bramham Loop, the Bramham Rib is made from British wool sourced exclusively from the British Isles and manufactured in the UK. The colour palette is identical across both products — six carefully considered natural tones spanning cool greys and warmer naturals, designed to work across a variety of interior schemes. This means the Bramham Loop and Bramham Rib can be used alongside each other across different areas of a home while maintaining a consistent, cohesive colour palette throughout.

The surface texture is where they part ways. Where the Loop has a clean, understated finish, the Rib has a more defined linear structure that adds a traditional quality particularly well suited to period properties, hallways and reception rooms where a little more surface character is welcome. It is a carpet that rewards closer inspection — the ribbed texture becomes more apparent as the light changes across it during the day.

The pile is plastic-free. The carpet uses a lightweight Envirobac backing that uses significantly less material than a standard carpet backing while maintaining full performance.

The Bramham Rib is suitable for all areas of the home including hallways, living rooms, bedrooms and stairs, and carries a heavy domestic and heavy contract usage rating.

A few things worth knowing before you order. The Bramham Rib pile is treated with a moth resistance agent during manufacture. As with all loop pile constructions, the rib pattern can be vulnerable to pets with a habit of catching their claws in the surface — if this is a concern, speak to our team before ordering. We strongly recommend ordering samples before purchasing — the colourways are best assessed in your own space and under your own lighting conditions before committing to an order.
