Our Mission
As a family we've worked in the flooring industry for over 40 years. In most of that time our main focus has been running a local, independent flooring store in Yorkshire.
This has allowed us to develop experience of all types of commercial and domestic flooring including installation. Our flooring store is successful because we deliver a high level of personalised service. This means we ensure our customers receive the best advice and are able to select he right product for their project.
Flooring by Nature has grown from a desire to bring this high level of service to a national market, and take the opportunity to focus on what we're really passionate about which is eco-friendly and sustainable products.
Our mission is to transform spaces and enrich lives by sourcing the very best in sustainable flooring products. Together let's reduce our dependence on plastic flooring and go back to using natural materials in our homes.

During our time in the flooring industry, we noticed how much waste is generated by the flooring industry and the lack of options to re-use and recycle. In recent years, many manufacturers have promoted 100% manmade (oil-based plastic) carpets and flooring as the best option for the average family home. However, these products are generally made from entirely oil-based materials, have a large carbon footprint, do not perform well in the home (so are replaced often) and at the end of their life are not recyclable or biodegradable so either spend hundreds of years in landfill or are incinerated, releasing all that oil-based carbon and other chemicals into the atmosphere.

We know that our customers are mindful of their impact on the environment but it’s not always easy to make environmentally responsible purchases. At Flooring by Nature, we have worked closely with key flooring manufacturers to offer a selection of the most environmentally friendly and sustainable flooring options for you to choose from.
We won’t ever offer a product we wouldn’t be happy to have in our own home and we’re open and honest about the benefits and disadvantages of each product to help you make the most informed buying decision.
Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is all about being conscious of your impact upon the health of our environment. From plastic waste to CO2 emissions, every aspect of our daily lives can have an impact on the planet.
Flooring by Nature deems sustainable flooring as flooring that is made entirely or predominately from natural or recycled materials. With 2.2 million tonnes of plastic waste being sent to landfill in the UK, we strive to only source eco flooring with minimal plastic content. We do extensive research into all of our eco flooring and carpet suppliers before working with them on where the product has come from, what it is made from and any negative impact it might have on the area in which it was sourced.
Our Products
Our products cover both sustainable carpets and eco flooring, taking into account which flooring options are ethically sourced and meet the requirements of our customers such as colour and quality. We aim to source either all-natural flooring or flooring with as minimal plastic content as possible while also being recyclable or biodegradable at the end of its useful life.
We offer fair prices on all of our flooring, both in our eco flooring range and our sustainable carpet range.
